The message of the Security Council Chair

Dear Agents of Change,

It is with great pleasure that we welcome you to the Rotaract Global Model United Nations Conference Baia-Mare Romania Edition as your Chairs. May we first begin by expressing how humbled, and thrilled we are to be chairing the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), and being able to work with, bright and analytical minds such as yours. We want to express our admiration for your dedication and passion for this event. We are confident that you will contribute to the committee’s success and make a positive impact on our world. The agendas that the committee shall deliberate over are:

1. Addressing the 2022-2023 Ukrainian refugee crisis.
2. Addressing the climate change and disaster displacement crisis.

Over the next few days, we will be engaging in simulating diplomatic debates and discussions on some of the most pressing issues facing our global community. As delegates, you will be representing the voices and interests of your countries, and we encourage you to approach this task with enthusiasm and determination.
Remember, this is not just a simulation, it is an opportunity to gain valuable insights into the working of the United Nations and develop your leadership and diplomacy skills. Your contributions and insights will be instrumental in shaping the committee’s resolutions and outcomes which we assure you will reach the Rotary International decision-making committee and UN desk at the UN headquarters in New York City.
As your Chairs, we are committed to ensuring that this is a productive and fulfilling experience for all of you. We encourage you to actively participate in the discussions, ask questions and challenge your selves to think creatively and critically. Most importantly, do not be afraid to share your ideas and perspectives, as they are valuable and essential to the success of this committee.

The security council has several important responsibilities, including the following:

– Monitoring and reporting on conflicts: the security council monitors conflicts around the world and reports on them to the general assembly.
